Knitting looks so great and envy those that can do it. I've tried to get into knitting several times but the process to too tedious and slow for me. However, I got these awesome knitting looms for Christmas and now I can "knit" using these!
The process is much faster and it suits me better. I made this lovely hat in about 2.5 hours while watching TV one night!
The different size looms are for different sized heads. The little blue one is for a baby hat but I think I will try to use it to make a scarf, it will be like a giant tube scarf.
This weekend I will be focusing on making drapes however and not knitting hats or scarves. I am really excited to get to work on the living room drapes! The fabric I got is so pretty, check it out here. I haven't sewn much in my life and I'm a little nervous about such a big project. I've been mulling over how I will make them for a few days and I feel good about it. I'll have pics when they are done.
I'm pumped that it's Friday and that it's January and about 50 degree outside instead of 20!
Have a lovely weekend, see you Monday!

Crafting on a Whole New Level
For Christmas I got this awesome serger from my in-laws!
I learned how to thread it last night and will practice with it tonight some more! When I feel confident that I know how to use my new serger, it will be time to make drapes and pillows for the living room with these awesome fabrics I got in Dallas over Christmas break! Come back soon to see how they turn out!

Back Again!
Wow, what a great break Matt and I just came back from! We were home in Texas for the past 9 days and it felt like we were really able to escape normal life and just relax/unwind for a good long time. We slept in late everyday and ate lots of good food prepared by our moms.
We spent time with both of our families and got to see some friends and go to a wedding! We even shot off some fireworks at the lake on New Year's Eve which is always fun!
I got to spend quality time with my two favorite cats which always makes me happy.
It doesn't feel like a new year has just started. I usually feel sad after Christmas because I start realizing that another year is about to end. This year however, I didn't think about New Year's resolutions or watch all the shows on TV that wrap up the past year which helped me to keep on living life without getting caught up in the changing of the date.
I'm trying to change my perspective on life to not worry about age or the years. I've gotten too caught up in focusing on how old I am and it freaks me out to realize how fast the time goes! My hope is to be able to enjoy life and each day as it comes without thinking too far into the future. I'm looking forward to 2012! 2011 what full of changes and it was great- I started this blog, we bought an Airstream, I got a new job, and we bought our first house! 2012 will be full of learning new things as we continue work on our house and our Airstream. Here's to a great new year.
Thanks for reading my blog, I appreciate it so much! Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Eve!
We are relaxing around the fire with the precious cats. Mom and my brother are making tamales for dinner tonight then we'll go to church for the candle light Christmas eve service.
I'm so excited that Christina at I Gotta Create chose my glitter Christmas lights for her 2011 Stars Christmas parade! Thanks Christina!
And, I hope you can enjoy a fire as much as Francis is today.
