Matt and I are big Duck Dynasty fans and made a special trip over to West Monroe in order to see the famous warehouse on the show!
If you love Duck Dynasty and are ever within an hour of West Monroe it's worth going! The warehouse is within 1/4 mile of the interstate so it's easy to get to.
Here's the loading dock, remember the episode where they made this area into a pond to see if they could get ducks to come??
This is employee parking, there are way more employees than are shown on the TV shows.
The gift shop is huge and full of fun Duck Dynasty goodies.
We were there on a Monday morning so there wasn't a huge crowd but there were still about 75 other cars there checking it out. I think it can get really crowded at times!
All there is to see is this side of the building and the giant gift shop but, if you're a fan you'll love it and there's always a chance you could see one of the Robertson's!

A Trip Home To Tyler
After a lovely two weeks in West Texas (one week in Guadalupe and one week in Big Bend) we took one day to drive across Texas to get to our hometown of Tyler! Why did we make the long long drive (660 miles!) in one day? Because we wanted to get home for a friend's wedding! We had a great time seeing friends and celebrating!
We stayed a week in Tyler and enjoyed it so very much! A week in Tyler goes by so quickly and I wish I could have seen more friends while we were there. We also tend to eat a lot while we're in Tyler (no complaints about that!). I baked a cake and cookies, we had crawfish, Catfish King, brunch, Don Juan's, Newk's and many other lovely home cooked meals.
Now we are one the road again! We left Tyler and headed to Shreveport to see Matt's Aunt! Then we drove to West Monroe, LA (more on that next time!).
We are enjoying our tour of the beautiful south and love the cool spring weather. Come back Saturday to see what we did in West Monroe.

Tahoe Tuesday
Hello! This week I've been pondering my life and how far I've traveled.
I was born in the state of Washington and tonight I'm sleeping in Natchez, Mississippi! I've come a long way! I love traveling with Matt and Michelle though especially when we stop at people's houses for a visit. I love to explore new places. This past week I got to spend time in Tyler, TX at both my grandparents houses. It was a great time.
This past weekend I got to go to my Aunt Dorothy's house in Shreveport and she let me run all over her house! She even got me a new toy!
Here I am exploring the space between her cabinet and microwave, I love small spaces!
We are traveling in the south now which is very different from our travels out west! Today we are headed to New Orleans and we will meet up with some of Matt and Michelle's friends later in the week I haven't met yet. I hear they have two pugs which have flat faces like mine!
Have a great week and see you next Tuesday.

Big Bend National Park
Big Bend National Park is located on the Rio Grande River in the great state of Texas. This national park can be described as rugged, huge, unique and beautiful. I especially found the area around the river to be the most beautiful. The best part of our trip to Big Bend is that my parents joined us for their Spring Break! Spring Break is one of Big Bend's busiest weeks of the year and it was fun to be among all of the spring breakers.
The Rio Grande provides a natural border between the US and Mexico. It's neat to look across the river and see another country. You aren't allowed to cross the Rio Grande though because it would be considered an illegal border crossing.
Big Bend looks like what many people probably think all of Texas looks like with rolling tumbleweeds, vast desert and cactus everywhere. As a native Texan I feel proud to have made it all the way to West Texas to see one of Texas' national parks! Big Bend even had Blue Bonnets which is the Texas state flower.
We spent alot of time on the river skipping rocks, fishing, canoeing and sitting in the natural hot spring (my favorite part!).
We also spent time hiking the Chisos Mountains and driving all over the park to see as much of it as we could.
Now that I've seen another national park, I'm even more thankful we have wild places in the USA to enjoy!

Guadalupe Mountains National Park
Did you know there is such a place called Guadalupe Mountains National Park? Did you know Texas has two national parks? I didn't!
Guadalupe National Park is in the very corner of Texas and is part of the rugged west.
There's pretty mountains and sprawling desert.
We also came across two natural springs that allowed the earliest settlers and people passing through to survive.
Here's our campground for the three nights we stayed in the park. It was $8 a night!
We did a few hikes and enjoyed exploring this unique park!

Tahoe Tuesday
Hello from Texas! Last time I was here I had to ride in a plane to get here. This time we arrived in my house and it was no problem. I'm happy to be back with my grandparents and I get to run around in Michelle and Matt's big bedrooms. It's very exciting.
I decided to pose for the camera this week and Matt got this great photo of me-
I also found a flosser this week and have been trying to figure out how it works.
I hope you have a great week!

Carlsbad Caverns
Carlsbad Caverns is one giant awesome cave! We were lucky to enjoy the cave on a very uncrowded day and it was almost eerie at times to feel alone in the cave. If you ever get the chance to go to Carlsbad it's well worth it!
The Natural Entrance |
Its dark inside the cave! We couldn't take any photos that would do the cave justice! |
The ladder we took to get down into the cave. JK! People in the 1920s used this ladder though... |
This is the gift shop and cafe inside the cave, it was pretty empty. |
This week we are in our hometown of Tyler, TX! We came in for a wedding last night (it was so fun!) and to see our families! We usually post about our travels a week- 2 weeks after it actually happened in case you were wondering. You can see on the sidebar where we are and where we're going next to see what's happening in real time with our travels!
Thursday
Tucson, AZ
After Phoenix we drove down to Tucson. While in Tucson we went to Saguaro National Park, the San Xavier Mission and out to eat twice thanks to our friend Barbara!
Saguaro National Park is full of Saguaro cacti! They are huge and neat looking.
One of the restaurants we enjoyed was El Corral. We had steaks and tamale pie!
